73 | Hello Again!
Hey Friends,
I've been travelling for a while exploring some places in Germany 🇩🇪, Bosnia and Herzegovina 🇧🇦, Italy 🇮🇹, Vatican City 🇻🇦, San Marino 🇸🇲, Liechtenstein 🇱🇮 and Switzerland 🇨🇭. For the first time since starting YouTube I skipped 2 weeks of content 😭 but for a good reason as I filmed 6-8 videos already during that trip! 😏 There will be a lot of videos coming up but I want to share a quick paragraph on each of these places.
🇩🇪 Germany
I travelled to Germany many times in the last 12 years but for some reason this was my first time in Hamburg. I was surprised as this is the second largest city in Germany and it was never on my list. I did a lot of photography here but still managed to make a video with 5 things we don’t necessarily know about this city, you can watch it here.
🇧🇦 Bosnia and Herzegovina
I arrived to Sarajevo (the capital) and there was an energy crisis with massive queues in the petrol stations due to an increase of price (war related). I learned a lot about 3 religions here where I visited a church, synagogue and mosque. Yes you have all that in the same place. After few days my local guide took me to Mostar and some other towns and wow! Bosnia is truly one of the hidden gems in Europe. I’ll expand more on some of the upcoming videos but this is definitely a must!
🇮🇹 Italy, 🇻🇦 Vatican City, 🇸🇲 San Marino
I spent time in Tuscany exploring Firenze, Val d'Orcia, Montepulciano, Pienza, San Gimignano and other famous spots where I took some iconic photos. I think I’ll use some of the content for an NFT related project as this was really huge. My only recommendation is to wake up early as all these places are absolutely packed with tourists and after 10/11 am you need to queue up for pretty much everything.
Vatican City, a city-state surrounded by Rome, is the headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church. It's home to the Pope and a trove of iconic art and architecture. I was in the Vatican few times in the past but actually this was the first time I visited the Vatican Museums and learned about the Renaissance frescoes and went to the Sistine Chapel, famous for Michelangelo’s ceiling.
San Marino is a mountainous microstate surrounded by north-central Italy. Among the world’s oldest republics, it retains much of its historic architecture. On the slopes of Monte Titano sits the capital and that’s where we had our hotel. Medieval walled old town and narrow cobblestone streets. The Three Towers, castlelike citadels dating to the 11th century, sit atop Titano’s neighbouring peaks. This was truly a fascinating place. If you ask Italians they don’t spend more than a day but I think it’s worth at least 2 days to do things you can’t due to the large amount of tourists. Also this is a stunning place for sunset timelapses and drone flights!
🇱🇮 Liechtenstein
Liechtenstein is a German-speaking, 25km-long principality between Austria and Switzerland. It’s known for its medieval castles, alpine landscapes and villages linked by a network of trails. We spent time in the capital, Vaduz, and also in the countryside. Before coming here, I read a few blogs and watched some videos, people saying it was boring but I totally disagree. I believe it was boring because they thought this would be a “shopping/monument” destination. The truth is that this is an outdoor trip. Everything is about climbing mountains, trails, exploring nature, etc. It’s a different trip but I saw some of the most stunning sceneries ever. So many stories to share and 100% worth visiting.
🇨🇭 Switzerland
Well Switzerland is Switzerland. It’s the place where I spent almost 3 years of my life travelling back and forth due to work projects. Always fantastic. This time besides the classic Zurich we spent time in the House of Läderach. From my perspective the best Chocolatier in the world. We went to the factory in Bilten and had a tour offering a fascinating insight into the world of fine Läderach chocolate. We learned where their cocoa beans come from and how the chocolate mass is created locally. We sampled various Läderach specialities and learned even more about what they do. Highly recommended if you care about high quality chocolate.
There’s a lot more to come in terms of content on socials but just wanted to give you a hint and this doesn’t end here. Travel plans for the rest of the year are huge and you’ll know more about the NFT project I’m finalising, perhaps on the next newsletter!
