Hey Friends,
To be honest I’m absolutely knackered after 2 months of solid travelling: Sweden, Lithuania, Spain, United States and The Bahamas. I always say I love travelling but it's also true that I need a break at least till next month 🤪. Where shall I go next? I look forward to reading your suggestion here.
Pre-pandemic I used to travel almost every single week, so why am I ranting? Well, I guess the game was different as I had 2 ways of travelling:
Work. I had a defined routine, clear objectives, milestones and deadlines. Everything was pretty much organised and even though I had (like everyone else) periods where I was exhausted, at the end of the day I was in the adrenaline game. No pain, no gain. Does it sound familiar? 😅
Holiday. Whenever I had a break from my intense work schedule, I enjoyed a little holiday and literally all I took was my phone to take few photos or film a bit, but that's it. Nothing crazy as I was trying to breathe. 🧘
These days I travel differently. Why?
Work. In the corporate world our travel is now limited so it's mainly about working remotely or from the office on a reduced frequency basis. Surely like many other people. 🏠
Holiday. These moments became the opportunity to produce the core of the content for my channel. This means travelling with a big backpack and a cabin suitcase… and both combined are 80% camera gear. 🎥
Why am I saying this?
Just because I've realised (for real) that the perfect time and opportunity do not exist. I cannot create content if I'm not willing to spend the time. I can bring the Excuse Book and every day come up with a new chapter. But the truth is that I'd only be lying to myself.
If I love something, I'll make the time. It's that simple. The rest are excuses to “feel good”. Don't get me wrong, we all have several things we're doing… but what are the priorities?
I enjoy filming, taking photos, speaking languages, exploring the world but more importantly I enjoy creating and documenting visual stories. I'm making time for this every night, every weekend, every trip.
Anyway, for more info on what this means, check out my latest video and if you genuinely enjoy it, give it a like or a comment so it can reach more people like yourself. 🙏🏻
Have a great week!
Alejandro
