53 | Travelling During COVID
Hey guys,
This week, I released a video -> A Day in the Life of a Traveler During COVID | Lithuania VLOG. This is my 50th video on YouTube. I'd love to hear your thoughts! 👂 👀
By the way, my YouTube channel crossed 1,000 subscribers and 6,500 watch hours on YouTube after 49 videos and 10 months (remember my newsletter here with my first video?) uploading every single week (and sometimes even more!). I'm not the fastest person but I've never been in any aspect of my life. My only skill has always been consistency. Still, I'm incredibly happy I'm now part of the YouTube Partner Program and can monetise the videos whenever I want. 🔥
I was speaking with few colleagues during the week in London and they were telling me they're not travelling as it was too complex, so they'd rather wait. 🤯
I wanted to share that with you because at least my opinion is that we cannot afford to wait for perfect conditions. Most of the things in life are a matter of balancing timing against available resources. We keep missing opportunities while waiting for perfect conditions. ⚖️
Travelling these days is more challenging. Yes. But to be honest it's not complex. In the UK and Europe, there are some extra steps, paperwork and tests to be done… but we can't call that “complex". ✍️
My definition of complexity has nothing to do with that. I love travelling and even if it takes me some extra hours to go through the steps, I'll still do it. 🚀
Travel like any activity that involves coming into contact with other people from different households, is not risk-free even after full vaccination. But what situation is risk free? 🚨
There are actions we can take to protect ourselves and others around us when travelling and there’s plenty of documentation that we can read in the official government websites and health organisations. 📃
Let's be honest. The pandemic is far from being over, even though in the UK, face masks are optional in many places or countries like Denmark lifted most of the restrictions. These actions give us a sense of the direction the governments are trying to go. However, this doesn't mean that we've controlled the pandemic. 🦠
If we're going to wait till the pandemic is fully over to start travelling again, then some golden years will be taken away from us. 😬
Don't get me wrong, I'm pro vaccines (I'm fully vaccinated), I follow the government guidance on how to travel safely and I'm frequently tested (I've spent more than €1,000 in PCR tests so far!)…. but as long as travel is allowed, I'll go for it. 💉
Hopefully you can resonate with some of the things I mentioned and if you have time to watch my video and you genuinely enjoy it, please give it a like so YouTube can recommend it to more people like you. ❤️
Enjoy your Sunday and have a great week!

📝 This Week's Blog Post
Travel is the one thing that I love the most about life. I’ve done it for a very long time and I do believe is the best way to understand cultures, speak languages and open your eyes. I’d like to think that money will return but time won’t, so I travel.

I keep making traveler vlogs around the world but I thought it would be good to film a day in the life type of video from early till late in Kaunas and Vilnius in Lithuania during COVID times. Here's the video.
