39 | The Other Side Of London

Hey guys,

This week, I released a video 🎬  about 7 Caribbean Islands in less than 7 minutes 🚀. This video is about the summary of those islands.

As I'm writing this newsletters now, I'm sipping a cup of coffee in a hotel near London Bridge. I checked in last Wednesday and I'm leaving tomorrow night. I've stayed in many hotels in London for many years and the reason is that sometimes I find convenient to be close to the locations where I plan to do things and minimise friction. ☕

For example, this stay was all about shooting vlogs for my channel. I worked everyday since Wednesday to shoot in different locations both A-roll (me talking to the camera) and B-roll (extra footage to support what I say) stuff. 🎥

Yesterday it was the UEFA Champions League Final between Manchester City vs Chelsea, I took a break and tried to check pubs to watch the game but no luck. Everything booked and packed. This is the thing in London, it's not so easy to get your spot whenever big events take place, unless you go super early or you book far ahead. ⚽

Working in the City vs Shooting a video in the City is a different thing. Because working is about the routine, following your way, paying limited attention to surroundings whereas shooting videos in the same locations is about exploring the in advance, check every single detail, find the right hour, the corners that we need and so many other other things to keep in mind. In a nutshell, we need to pay attention to everything. 🏆

So the same city can have an interesting perspective if we look from different lenses. 🔍
