30 | Stories To Tell, Not Stuff To Show
Hey guys,
This week, I released aĀ videoĀ š¬Ā aboutĀ 10 things Iāve learned from 10 years of travelĀ š. If I were to talk to my younger self, I'd tell him those 10 things summarising 70 countries in less than 10 minutes. In case you don't get the notification, every time I post a new video, you can get an alert by clickingĀ here. šļø
For some reason, weāve built up this strange thing in our heads that a trip is going to destroy our bank account, but that's not the case. For me, even when I was a student and had a tiny budget to cover my essentials, travel was an important part of it, as opposed to something IĀ could potentiallyĀ do if I had some extra cash. š¦
When I started to travel, I was doing CouchSurfing in every single trip, so I was literally sending requests to strangers to stay at their places for couple of nights and this was 100% free. It was a win-win because the local wanted to learn from the traveler (language, culture, food and so on) and me as a traveler I wanted to enrich my travel experience with a local in addition of a free night of course. šļø
Yes, the older we are, probably the more we like ācomfortā and try to go for more expensive accommodation, flight tickets, restaurants, etc. However, there are always ways to adjust the budget and make the trip work without significantly damaging our bank accounts. I talk about this during the video. š
Few days ago, I co-hosted another room inĀ ClubhouseĀ šļø where I interviewed the great Alfie Boe. He is best known for his performances asĀ Jean ValjeanĀ in theĀ musicalĀ Les MisĆ©rablesĀ at theĀ Queen's TheatreĀ inĀ London. In fact, he has sold more than one million albums in the UK. At the end of the interview, he performed a cappella for few minutes a song he wrote for his dad. It was just stunning, so we agreed the next interview it would be with Michael Ball too. Michael was part of many big productions such as Les MisĆ©rables and The Panthom of the Opera in both London and Broadway.
Travel isnāt just the experiences we have when weĀ leaveĀ our homeland, itās the experiences we bring back which change us in ways we could have never imagined. I believe that stories to tell are more important than stuff to show and I'd love to keep sharing stories with you. š§
Have a great week and enjoy the content below!

As human beings, weāre very passionate about forming opinions from the cosiness of our couches, and making big arguments about places weāve never been, supported only by the warm light of our laptops or TVs. Yet once we leave our safe places and start travelling the world, the learning we can do is astonishing. Let's talk about this.
