23 | Everyone Smiles In The Same Language
Hey guys,
This week, I released the second part of the video 🎬 Life in London 🇬🇧 vs Buenos Aires🇦🇷. I talked about nightlife 🕺, safety 🚓,, relationships 🙏 and money & career 💸 in both cities. Once again I made few parts funny as comparisons are definitely sensitive. So you might have seen some moments being exaggerated in the interest of keeping a good workflow and balanced story. If you missed the first part, you can watch it here.
Languages can be terrifying if we don't like them. But is it truly that we don't like to learn languages or is it just atelophobia? The fear of imperfection. 🤦♂️
Often we tend to repeat what we've always been told. How many times do we question things? “I can't do this, I'm not good enough”. Wait! What? Henry Ford used to say that whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you're right. 🔁
I feel that atelophobia is correlated with procrastination. We just don't do it because we have this unreal pressure that everything needs to be perfect. Because if it's not perfect, then I don't do it or I'll try later. And procrastination kicks in. We start delaying things forever and nothing gets done. 🤯
Few months ago I read an interesting book from Jane Knapp called “Make Time” and one of the things he said was that combining the four-plus hours the average person spends on their smartphone with the four-plus hours the average person spends watching television, then distraction is a full-time job. 📚
I've been using the Pomodoro Technique this week, which is about using a timer to break down work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks. This is not new but by being intentional about it, I managed to get a lot of stuff done. 🍅
To close the circle, I enjoy learning languages and even making mistakes is not a big enough reason to stop. In fact, it's a good reason to keep improving. The truth is that we can't learn to fluently speak a new language without making mistakes. I feel that that it's easy to never make a mistake when we hide away from the possibility of making them… but who wants that?
Have a great week and enjoy the content below!

🎯 This Week’s Quote
“Just about everything you learned in school about life is wrong, but the wrongest thing might very well be this: Being well rounded is the secret to success.”
